Tom is a UK-based researcher, writer and photographer with a particular interest in the Caucasus, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. From 2014 to 2022 he was based in Baku, Azerbaijan, where he worked as a magazine editor and travel content creator while travelling and photographing extensively. He holds a BA (Hons) in French and Russian from the University of Bristol and an MA in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography from the London College of Communication. His work is driven by long-term engagement with places, while his photography focuses largely on conveying culture, everyday life, and atmosphere rather than narrative.
